Help with a family home after a bereavement.

Sorting a loved one’s home is one of the hardest practical jobs a family faces. It often falls to just one or two people.

The task can arrive alongside probate paperwork, work and family life, sometimes from the other end of the country. We can take on the practical side at your pace and keep you informed throughout.

What we can take on for you

  • Finding and setting aside the things that matter: photographs, documents, jewellery and the items family members have asked about.
  • Sorting the rest with care: donations to local charities, recycling, and removal of anything left through an authorised waste carrier.
  • Preparing the property for its next step, such as professional cleaning, valuation, sale or return to a landlord, and coordinating the people involved.
  • Clear, agreed updates: photographs and progress reports, so everyone who needs to know, knows.

How we work with families

Nothing leaves the property without the agreed person’s permission. We work with discretion, we never rush, and difficult days are allowed to be difficult. You deal with one named person from the first call to the final walk-through.

If you live far away

Many families arranging a clearance live hours away, or abroad. With the right permissions in place, we can be your hands on the ground: visiting, sorting, meeting trades and reporting back, so you’re not trying to manage everything from a distance.

One honest note: this is practical property support, not legal or probate advice. Executors and families remain responsible for legal decisions, valuations and anything set out in a will. We’re very happy to work alongside your solicitor, estate agent or valuer.
