Website information can be provided in another reasonable format or discussed by telephone where practical.
Accessibility at a glance
- Mrs Downsizer aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.
- The site uses clear headings, labelled controls, meaningful links, keyboard focus styles and alternative text for content images.
- No formal claim of full WCAG conformance is currently made because representative assistive-technology and high-zoom testing is not yet complete.
- If you encounter a barrier, contact Lisa and a practical alternative will be offered wherever reasonably possible.
1. Scope and commitment
This statement applies to mrsdownsizer.co.uk, operated by Lisa Vaughan trading as Mrs Downsizer.
Mrs Downsizer wants visitors to be able to understand the services, navigate the site, review prices and legal information, and make contact without avoidable barriers. Accessibility is considered when content, design and website components are changed.
2. Standard and current status
The site is designed with WCAG 2.2 Level AA as its working accessibility standard.
WCAG conformance claims are optional and require every relevant requirement to be met across complete pages and responsive variations. Mrs Downsizer does not currently make a formal full-conformance claim. This is a transparent statement of the work completed, the testing still needed and the help available.
3. Measures already in place
- Pages use one main heading followed by a structured sequence of section headings.
- Main content, navigation and footer regions are identifiable in the page structure.
- Content images have descriptive alternative text; decorative images are not announced unnecessarily.
- Links and buttons use descriptive names, and keyboard focus is made visible.
- The contact form uses visible labels, required-field instructions and appropriate autocomplete purposes.
- Video and carousel content provides visitor controls rather than relying on uncontrolled automatic movement.
- Colour contrast, text spacing and responsive layouts have been considered in the current design.
4. Known limitations and outstanding testing
No specific access barrier is knowingly left unresolved at the date above, but the evaluation is not exhaustive. Representative testing with screen readers, voice control and switch access has not yet been completed, and not every page has been tested through the full 200% to 400% browser-zoom range.
Those gaps mean an issue may remain even though routine automated and manual checks have passed. Any barrier found through further testing or reported by a visitor will be assessed and prioritised.
5. Feedback and alternative formats
Email hello@mrsdownsizer.co.uk if you cannot access information or complete an action. Please say which page or feature you were using, what happened, the device or assistive technology involved if you are comfortable sharing it, and what would help.
Mrs Downsizer aims to acknowledge an accessibility request within two working days. Information can be supplied in another reasonable format or discussed by telephone where practical.
6. Technical information
This website is built with WordPress and Avada and relies on HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Current versions of mainstream browsers are recommended. Blocking JavaScript may limit navigation, forms or interactive content, but essential contact information remains available in page text and by email.
7. How the site was evaluated
The statement was reviewed on 9 August 2026 through self-evaluation rather than an independent formal audit. Representative public pages were checked at desktop and mobile widths for headings and landmarks, descriptive links, image alternatives, form labels, colour contrast, visible focus, page reflow, overflow and controls for moving content.
Further testing with disabled users and a representative range of assistive technologies is planned before any formal conformance claim is considered.
8. Complaints and independent advice
Please contact Lisa first so there is an opportunity to understand and resolve the problem. For independent information about discrimination and rights under the Equality Act 2010, contact the Equality Advisory Support Service (EASS).
9. Review schedule
This statement will be reviewed after a material design or technology change, when a significant issue is reported, and at least annually. The next scheduled review is by 9 August 2027.
