Decluttering, organisation and move support — done kindly.

Every home is different, so we start with a conversation. We tailor the plan to the person, property and timescale.

Decluttering & home organisation

We sort belongings with sensitivity and practical purpose: what to keep, what to pass on and what can be let go. We work at your pace, without judgement, and nothing leaves the home without the agreed person’s permission. Donated items go to local charity shops whenever they can take them — we’ll do the drop-offs for you.

Moving home and downsizing

Moving house can feel overwhelming — especially when downsizing. We can help you:

  • Decide what to keep, donate, sell or recycle.
  • Organise and label your belongings before packing.
  • Take the stress out of moving day itself.
  • Unpack and organise the new home so you settle in quickly.

Move management and retirement moves

We coordinate packing, removals, timings, access and the small details that are easy to miss — including moves to a smaller property, retirement apartment or supported-living setting. You’ll always know what’s happening and when, and we can liaise with agreed suppliers so you’re not chasing everyone yourself.

New-home set-up

We unpack, arrange furniture and organise each space so the new home is comfortable, safe and usable from day one, rather than leaving rooms full of boxes.

Safer, easier living

Drawing on Lisa’s home-care experience, we’ll notice practical things that make everyday life harder and suggest simple, non-clinical changes to the layout or organisation of a room. Any specialist assessment or equipment recommendation stays with the appropriate professional.

Bereavement and probate property support

After someone dies, sorting their home can be one of the hardest practical tasks a family ever faces — especially from a distance. Because it deserves more than a paragraph, it has a page of its own: what we can take on, how we keep families informed, and the honest limits of what we do.

Help for family who live far away

Many enquiries come from sons, daughters and other relatives who live abroad or at the other end of the country. With the right permissions in place, we can be your reliable pair of hands on the ground: visiting, sorting, coordinating and reporting back with agreed photographs and updates — so your parent is looked after, and you have one less thing to worry about.

Clear service boundaries

  • Light cleaning means wiping shelves and accessible surfaces in the spaces cleared — always included. Deep, specialist or whole-property cleaning is quoted separately and carried out by an appropriate provider.
  • Mrs Downsizer is not a removals firm, estate agent, valuer or legal adviser. We can coordinate suitable professionals where agreed.
  • Waste removal is carried out or arranged only through an authorised waste carrier, with any disposal fees agreed and itemised.

A few common questions

Whichever suits you. For decluttering, most people like to be there for the decisions — and you set the pace. For clearances, move days and new-home set-ups, plenty of clients (especially family living far away) leave us to it and get updates as we go.
Completely. What we see in your home stays private, and we work with discretion and no judgement — whatever the size of the job. If you’d like a confidentiality agreement in writing, just ask.
That depends on the size of the job and the time of year — the free 20-minute call is the quickest way to get an honest answer.

Not sure which service fits?

Start with the situation, not a package. Tell us what is happening at home, your timescale and what would make the biggest difference; we’ll suggest a sensible place to begin.
